Donation for construction of Library-cum-Museum
The Bhawan Society is grateful to Smt. Sulochana Goyal, M.D. of M/s Metro Buildtech, New Delhi and her son Shri Akash Goyal who have come forward on the request of S. Jarnail Singh, Chairman, to donate Rs. 10 Lakhs for the construction of Library-cum-Museum at Shaheed Udham Singh Bhawan, Sector 44-C, Chandigarh in the memory of their beloved and respected Sh. Chaman Lal Goyal, who was a great visionary, guide, philanthropist, friend of friends and above all a good human being.
The Goyal family originally belongs to Sunam Udham Singh Wala and at present is settled at Gitanjali Enclave, South Delhi. So far, they have donated Rs. 11.50 Lakhs to Bhawan Society. God may bless them!
Donation for construction of Bhawan Rooms
The following members have committed to donate Rs. 5,00,000/- each for construction of rooms of Bhawan Building in the memory of their beloved ones in order to make funds available to Society for construction of Bhawan. The Bhawan Society is highly obliged and thankful for their kind support.
The above mentioned members are requested to pay the remaining donations at the earliest as the funds are urgently needed for construction of Bhawan.
Note :-
(1) On 19.05.2018 Shri Daulat Ram Kamboj came to the Bhawan Society Office and alleged that their name for the construction of room at Bhawan is being unnecessarily dragged in various meetings by the Chairman as he or his son has never promised to build a room. He was confronted with the facts that his son Shri Shinder Pal Singh (Bobby) has made a public announcement in this regard in his presence before the general public during a function organized by Bhawan Society. This fact was confirmed by all the Executive Body members on his face. He was also informed that this fact can be verified from video recording of the function. Shri Daulat Ram Kamboj admitted the fact but declared that, in any case they will not donate Rs. 5 Lakhs for the construction of room at Bhawan and backed out of his promise. So name of his son is deleted from the list of families who promised donation of Rs. 5 Lakhs for construction of room.
(2) Shri Deepak Kamboj son of late Shri Nanak Chand Kamboj attended the meeting of Executive Committee held on 19.08.2017 during which the proposal of hanging of photograph of any individual including Shri Nanak Chand Kamboj in the hall at Shaheed Udham Singh Hall, Chandigarh was unanimously rejected. He was also reminded that their family has promised to pay Rs. 5 Lakhs to Bhawan Society in order to build one room in the memory of his father. To this, he remarked that his family has also been approached for donation by Mohali Bhawan, Kurukshetra Kamboj Bhawan and Kamboj Bunga, Haridwar and they have not decided yet where to contribute. There is least hope and possibility of receipt of donation of Rs. 5 Lakhs from this family. So their name is deleted from the list of families who promised to donate Rs. 5 Lakhs for construction of room.
The Executive Committee has resolved to complete the Bhawan Building in order to get out of the vicious circle, the society is facing from its very inception. The society is also required to make payment of Rs. 1.00 Lakh per month besides approx. Rs. One Crore is required for each floor for the construction besides all the arrears of penal interest of Rs. 80 Lakhs are still pending.
For this purpose, all out efforts are being made to collect sufficient donations. The society is not able to get loan from the bank due to some valid reasons. If sufficient donations are not received, the Bhawan Society would like to borrow money from the members on returnable basis with or without interest. So members, especially office bearers and RGB members, are requested to remain prepared for this contingency so that the Bhawan Building is completed. The following members/office bearers of Bhawan Society have come forward to provide interest free loan to Bhawan Society :-
